Church Clerk

I was born in Illinois, and raised in the small town of Crystal Lake until I was 15. At that time, my dad was transferred to what was then the Union Oil Company at the Research Center in Brea, CA. In January 1966 we all migrated to Orange, CA. In 1973 I joined the Army where I served for 2 years as one of the first female Military Police Officers. My entire 2 years was spent at Ft. McClellan, AL. In 1975 I had a rather dramatic conversion and God became a major part of my life. Unfortunately, I drifted in and out of my relationship with God as I had no support system and spent the next 35 years addicted to first, alcohol and then prescription drugs. It seems God was not through with me yet, though. In 2010, shortly after the sudden death of my husband of 32 years, I had a reconversion, even more dramatic than the first. This conversion stuck. I was blessed to be allowed to become part of the Prison Ministry where I provide the music for the church services we hold every Sabbath for the ladies at the Orange County Women’s Jail. I am also blessed to have had my 90+ father move in with me and we are spending our twilight years getting to know each other. The bag I take to the jail has on it Nehemiah 8:10 – The joy of the Lord is my Strength- and that pretty well sums up my life today.

Pathfinder Director

Born and raised in Orange County, Crystal has called the Orange SDA church home since 1985 when she was 3 years old. Since being baptized in Christ and into member in 1995, she has served as a VBS leader, youth leader, young adult’s leader, head deaconess, elder, and currently serves as the pathfinder director. Working with and for the youth of the church is one of her passions as she gets to provide guidance and mentorship as the youth discover Christ and learn more about themselves. Proverbs 22:6 says to ‘start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it,’ and Crystal firmly believes in this message. From a young age, Crystal had a mentor from within the church whose love of Christ and dedication to her spiritual growth is what created the foundation in her to giving back to the next generation. Outside of the church, Crystal enjoys spending time with her amazing family, her fun-loving husband Victor, her two grouchy cats Roxy and Lily, and her energetic dog Kiki. She enjoys her career as a marketing project manager where she gets to see new concepts and ideas turn into tangible products.

Adventurers Director

Martha is a third-generation Adventist who received her BS degree from Pacific Union College and her MS degree from Loma Linda University.  She has worked as a Speech/Language Pathologist for the Westminster School District for over 30 years.  She is married to Tom Sanchez and they have two adult children.  They also have three grandsons who fill their lives with joy. She and her family have been members of the Orange SDA church since the early 1990s. Martha’s passion for Children’s Ministry began when she was asked to play the piano for the Cradle Roll class when she was in academy.  Since that time, she has served as a Sabbath School teacher in several children’s classes and a Vacation Bible School worker.  Martha and Tom also worked in Pathfinder Ministries for over 20 years, serving as Orange County Assistant Coordinators/Head Coordinators for eleven years.  After their grandsons were born, Martha and Tom felt the call to start an Adventurer Club.  They have served as directors of our church’s club since 2010.  Martha also serves as one of the church pianists. Martha’s favorite Bible verse is Isaiah 40:31, “But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.”

Adventurer Leader

Elisabeth was born and raised in Orange County, and was born into the Seventh Day Adventist Church. In fact, her grandparents and parents were some of the founding members of the Spanish McFadden SDA church in Santa Ana.

Her parents sent her to Adventist school as soon as they were able. She attended Orangewood Academy from 2nd to 12th. After high school, she attended Pacific Union College, and Loma Linda University School of Allied Health, where she received my B.S. & M.S. in Communication Sciences and Disorders. After completing her college and graduate studies, she gained employment as a Speech Language Pathologist in the Anaheim Elementary School District, where she is still working to this day. She have been blessed to work with amazing colleagues and have enjoyed helping students from preschool up to 6th grade improve their oral communication skills.

At church, she has enjoyed being a teacher and pianist in the Beginner's Sabbath School class. Interacting with the tiniest church members is always a blessing. Watching them grow and learn about God's love fills her with joy on Sabbath mornings. She is also proud of the fact that she helped to establish the Adventurer Club by starting out with a very small group of Little Lambs students. Since then, the club has grown and has included all of the Adventurer grade levels from Little Lambs (Preschool) to Helping Hands (4th grade).

Kindergarten Teacher

Kristie was born in up-state NY and raised in Orange County living close to the beach until she married and moved to Fullerton in 1998. She attended CSUF and earned a BS in child & adolescent development and has been teaching children ever since. Here in Fullerton she started attending an SDA church that her teaching mentor attended. This friend introduced her to her current friends at Orange SDA whom she have called her church family since 2006!

As a believer, she believed in God, but did not have the maturity of faith to understand why bad things happen to good people-so she spent some time angry with God, and then a miracle happened. She gave birth to her 1st child, he was so perfect in every way-ten little fingers, ten little toes. She cried holding him for the first time and was showered with the undeniable feeling of just how much God loves each of us! From that moment on she has made the conscious decision to forgive God for all the bad things that happens to good people and in time her heart and mind were opened to learning and growing in faith.

Her favorite bible verse is Luke 12:24 “Consider the ravens: They do not sow or reap, they have no storeroom or barn; yet God feeds them. And how much more valuable you are than birds!”

“Consider the ravens: They do not sow or reap, they have no storeroom or barn; yet God feeds them. And how much more valuable you are than birds!” Luke 12:24

Administrative Assistant

Dana was born in Santa Monica, CA and grew up in Whittier. She went to both Adventist and public schools until high school. when her mother encouraged her to go to Lynwood Academy, where she met my husband Bill for the first time. They bumped into each other again after a number of years and they married in 2000. Together they have 5 children and 15 grandchildren.

Dana was baptized at the Norwalk SDA Church when she was 10 years old. Jesus has been her best friend since she was very little and she has depended on Him in both good and difficult times. Some of the Bible verses that have carried her through her life are in the Psalms and 1 Peter 5:8. She loves how David takes it all to God, pours out his heart and then expresses trust in Him for all things, no matter what. An attitude of gratitude & trust that she tries to achieve daily.

"Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour." 1 Peter 5:8

Head Deaconess

Carla was born and raised in sunny Southern California. She grew up in the city of Santa Ana and graduated from the local high school. God blessed her with a wonderful sister, two children and two grandchildren whom she loves very much.

She accepted the Lord Jesus as her personal Savior in 1980, while attending an evangelistic meeting and was baptized in the Santa Ana Broadway SDA Church.

Upon retirement seen years ago, she and her sister did some traveling in her 19' airstrem travel trailer, enjoying God's creation in Montana, Wyoming and Canada; while traveling their faith was tested by some unusual experiences. God was amazing and answered their prayers and saved them from what could have been a disaster.

She looks forward to the Second Coming of Jesus and sharing the Gospel message. One of her favorite Bible verses is John 3:16.

"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life." John 3:16
